Another Project

I'm working on a mandala based on the chakras. I'm on the third chakra now. Each circle is about 4" and has a different color and ruffle pattern.

The red root chakra is a mix of size 11 and size 10 beads in different shades of red with different finishes.

The orange one is all size 11 beads with different shades and finishes arranged to ripple. The photo doesn't show the ruffle. :(

When I started this one, I only had enough of four shades of size 11 yellow beads to make it, but I think it works.  It's almost complete.
I'm planning to have a heart shape inside the green circle since green is the color of the heart chakra.

I have no idea how I'm going to put them together once I've completed all seven. I better get on the ball and make sure I have enough shades of blue and true purple (which is so hard to find) so the blue, indigo and violet come out different enough.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! And may everyone have a blessed and merry holiday season!

More Pottery Painting

During the year this year, I painted mugs for family members for their birthdays. So I had a reason to paint each month, and again, one of the most important things...I didn't have to keep it all in my house. :)

This travel mug was one of the first ones I did. I was trying to make it manly for my uncle. :)

Painted gifts

Last Christmas, everyone in my family received a personalized light switch plate. That way I got to paint, but I didn't have to keep everything at my house!

I've been away from beading and creativity for a while. However, I am getting back on track and feeling so much better since I have been MAKING time to be artistic! I've been painting at a local pottery studio, The Starving Artist. This is a mug I made for my godson. I used to call him my little monkey when he was a toddler because he used to climb all over me!
